So, how was it, mama?

Did you complete the chore challenge?

It just died on me. I pulled out in the middle of the intersection to turn left and it died. I could get nothing out of it. Our faithful little car left me stranded in the middle of the intersection, cars honking and desperately needing to make it to an appointment in time. I would like to say I remained cool calm and collected but the truth is, I panicked. Full-on froze, cried, and could not think logically about my next steps. As a kind gentleman walked me through what I should do to get my car out of oncoming traffic, he did not give me any instructions that I could not have given someone else. But when I was embarrassed, scared, and a million other things in my mind I could not think of what to do.

When life is the craziest and we look around and realize none of the things that we put in place to take care of the crazy are in place anymore. Often this is when systems fail. Late-night practices throw your evening routine. A broken oven throws your normal meal plan out the window. A teething baby who is up all night prevents you from having a peace-filled morning time.

Mama, I get it. Know that life will happen, things seldom go as planned. But this should not stop us from getting things back in control.

When you look around and it feels like cars are racing towards you and you are stuck in the intersection, may I suggest:

  1. Take a deep breath, and remind yourself this too shall pass.
  2. Go back to what you know, and let the systems you have in place guide you back to safety. Remember they were not bad systems, and just because life got crazy and you stopped implementing them does not mean that they did not work.
  3. Call a family meeting. Explain to your kids how you all have gotten stuck and your plan for getting things in place again.

Hey mama, it's okay that you have begun to panic, that things feel chaotic and overwhelming but I don’t want you to stay there. Follow these simple steps and if you need a guide, like the kind man I encountered, I would love to be that for you. In our 90-day-coaching program, Peaceful Mama Breakthrough we can set up all of those systems so that instead of showing up reactionary, you can show up calmly with a plan. If you want to know more, schedule a discovery call today. It would be so fun to work with you, mama.

Cheering you on!
